My examination and chiropractic procedures are geared toward detection and correction of the "Vertebral Subluxation" (click on this link for more information on subluxations). The procedures I use are therefore specifically selected for your spine and nervous system health. There are a couple of things that you should expect when you have a first visit with me.
On your initial visit I will discuss your case history with you and answer any questions you might have. I will explain the type of chiropractic technique that I use.
We will go over any spinal X-Ray, MRI or CAT scan films and reports together. I will then proceed to perform a chiropractic exam of your spine that includes a range of motion study and "palpating" (feeling) the muscles along your spine to detect vertebral subluxations.
You will receive a gentle, specific spinal adjustment on your first visit. We will discuss anything that is revealed in your case history, radiograhic findings or from the chiropractic palpatory exam that might be a contraindication for a chiropractic adjusment.
After the adjustment I do a "post check" of your spinal range of motion and ask for feed back from you. I will suggest gentle movements and gentle stretches if necessary. I will also make suggestions as to what activities you may need to avoid during the initial phase of care. You will be encouraged to drink water to support your body in the healing process. The importance of drinking water and how much is necessary will also be explained.
Please remember that as a Doctor of Chiropractic my goal is to help you to connect with the Innate Intelligence within your body that is ALWAYS striving to keep you healthy and well. I will do my best to help you to learn to "listen" to your body and to make healthy lifestyle choices to support the process of healing.
Wellness comes from within us and we all have the innate potential to be healthy and well. It's our day to day choices that make the difference in our level of wellness. Our thoughts and attitudes toward health and wellness are very important. Norman Vincent Peale once said "Change your thoughts and you change your world."
Every time a new patient walks into my office I am honored to be of service and to witness the body's innate ability to reach its optimum health potential.
Please come in 15 minutes ahead of your scheduled appointment to allow the completion of the necesssary paperwork.
We look forward to seeing you.
